Share market update: Auto shares mixed; Ashok Leyland down nearly 1%

NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading on a mixed note with Nifty Auto index down 0.13 per cent at 8922.15 in Friday morning trading session.

Shares of Motherson Sumi Systems (up 0.56 per cent), TVS Motor Company (up 0.53 per cent), Eicher Motors (up 0.52 per cent) and Exide Industries (up 0.36 per cent) were top performers in index. Ashok Leyland (down 0.89 per cent), Apollo Tyres (down 0.79 per cent), Tata Motors (down 0.71 per cent) and Mahindra Mahindra (down 0.67 per cent) were trading in red.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 1.75 points at 10,823.35 while BSE Sensex was up 8.88 points at 36,115.38 around 10:17 am.

Among 50 stocks in Nifty index, 26 were trading in green, while 23 were in red.

Shares of YES Bank, Ashok Leyland, Tata Motors, TCS, ITC, SBI, Hindalco Industries, Infosys, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, BHEL, Indian Oil Corp, Bank of Baroda, Bharti Airtel and ONGC were among most traded shares on NSE.
