Buying and selling activities of influential investors have always been of interest to market participants.
As investors grapple with the uncertainty on Dalal Street, there is greater focus on what the seasoned participants have done.
ET takes a look at what top investors like Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, Ashish Kacholia, Anil Kumar Goel and Dolly Khanna did in the March quarter.
Rakesh Jhunjhunwala and Ashish Kacholia have increased stake in some of their long-held portfolio companies, while Anil Kumar Goel has upped stake in the sugar sector.
Chennai-based investor Dolly Khanna has been active more on the selling side, reducing stakes in several companies.
ASHISH KACHOLIAAshish Kacholia is known for his mid- and smallcap picks.
During the March quarter, he increased stake in Mastek by 0.9 per cent, in DFM Foods by 0.8 per cent and in Majesco by 0.5 per cent.
He has also marginally increased stake in NOCIL by 0.06 per cent.
Kacholia has reduced his stake by 0.8 per cent in Pokarna Limited and in Birlasoft by 0.3 per cent.
His name also figured in list of public shareholders of GTPL Hathway in the March quarter shareholding pattern data with a stake of 2.06 per cent.
RAKESH JHUNJHUNWALAThe billionaire investor upped his stake in mortgage lender Dewan Housing Finance Corporation (DHFL) in the March quarter after reducing his stake in the company in the previous quarter by 0.7 per cent in the aftermath of the liquidity crunch in the NBFC sector.
Jhunjhunwala has increased stake by 0.73 per cent in DHFL in the March quarter.
The biggest increase has been in VIP Industries (1.3 per cent) while the biggest cut in holding has been in Autoline Industries by 1.4 per cent.
ANIL KUMAR GOELThe value investor’s conviction in the sugar sector has remained firm in the March quarter.
Goel has increased stake in Avadh Sugar by 0.55 per cent and marginally in Uttam Sugar as well.
Goel holds 4.15 per cent stake in Dwarikesh Sugar Industries and 10.54 per cent in Dhampur Sugar Mills, where his holding has remain unchanged in the March quarter.
Goel has halved his stake in Samtex Fashions to 6 per cent.
DOLLY KHANNAKhanna HAS made no major purchases in the quarter ended March.
Chennai-based Khanna has sold stake in six companies during the quarter.
Khanna has sold stake in Rain Industries, RSWM, Ruchira Papers, NOCIL, IFB Agro Industries and Nilkamal by 0.2-0.4 per cent.
Her name has figured among the public shareholders with over 1 per cent stake in Butterfly Gandhimathi Appliances, where the holding as per March quarter data stood at 1.04 per cent.
Khanna’s name had last shown up in public shareholders list of Butterfly Gandhimathi in the June 2018 quarter.
