Stock market update: IT shares down; Mindtree dips over 2%

NEW DELHI: IT shares were trading with losses in Wednesday's morning session.

Shares of Mindtree (down 2.74 per cent), Wipro (down 2.36 per cent), Oracle Financial Services Software (down 1.25 per cent) and HCL Technologies (down 1.04 per cent) were trading lower. NIIT Technologies (down 0.94 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services (down 0.77 per cent) and Tata Elxsi (down 0.59 per cent) too were trading with losses.

The Nifty IT index was trading 0.39 per cent down at 15,363.85 around 09:55 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 41.90 points at 10,967.75 while the BSE Sensex was up 140.43 points at 37,098.59.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, HDFC Life Insurance Company, Vodafone Idea, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Coal India, RIL, NALCO, JSPL, SAIL and Sun Pharma were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
