Share market update: PSU bank shares rise; BoB up over 2%

NEW DELHI: Shares of PSU banks were trading in the positive zone in Thursday's morning session. Shares of Bank of Baroda (up 2.27 per cent) , Central Bank of India (up 1.54 per cent) , Indian Bank (up 1.23 per cent) and Allahabad Bank (up 1.04 per cent) were the top performers in the index.

Bank of India (up 0.95 per cent) , Canara Bank (up 0.88 per cent) , Syndicate Bank (up 0.63 per cent) and Jammu - Kashmir Bank Ltd.

(up 0.50 per cent) too were trading in the green.

The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 0.83 per cent up at 2515.75 around 10:51 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 19.10 points at 11,054.80 while the BSE Sensex was up 82.63 points at 37,353.45.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, JSPL, Bank of Baroda, SAIL, Ashok Leyland, NCC, NBCC and PNB were among the most traded securities on the NSE.
