Share market update: PSU bank shares slip; SBI falls over 4%

NEW DELHI: Shares of PSU banks were trading in the negative zone in Wednesday's morning session. Shares of State Bank of India (down 4.23 per cent), Union Bank of India (down 3.09 per cent), Bank of India (down 3.05 per cent) and Canara Bank (down 2.93 per cent) were trading with losses. Central Bank of India (down 2.51 per cent), Bank of Baroda (down 2.32 per cent), Allahabad Bank (down 1.93 per cent) and Punjab National Bank (down 1.74 per cent) too were trading lower.

The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 2.78 per cent down at 2452.70 around 11:02 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 101 points at 11,487.20 while the BSE Sensex was down 360.69 points at 38,736.45.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 13 were trading in the green, while 37 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Ashok Leyland, SBI, IDBI Bank, ZEEL, GMR Infra, Adani Power, Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors and NCC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
