Share market update: Auto shares in the red; Tata Motors down 1%

NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading in the red in Wednesday's morning session. Shares of Motherson Sumi Systems (down 1.73 per cent), Tata Motors (down 0.94 per cent), Hero MotoCorp (down 0.86 per cent) and Apollo Tyres (down 0.85 per cent) were trading lower. Eicher Motors (down 0.53 per cent), MRF (down 0.52 per cent), Bharat Forge (down 0.32 per cent) and Amara Raja Batteries (down 0.15 per cent) too were trading with losses.

The Nifty Auto index was trading flat at 7360.10 around 09:45 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 10.10 points at 11,136.50 while the BSE Sensex was up 44.18 points at 37,576.16.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, ZEEL, Aurobindo Pharma, Ashok Leyland, GMR Infra, SBI and JSPL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
