Prices of food items to be reduced ahead of festive season

The Cost of Living Committee today decided to reduce the prices of many essential food items needed for the upcoming festive season.

Accordingly, the import levy on a kilo of imported dried chilies has been reduced from Rs.

25 to Rs.

5, while the tax on one kilogram of imported fish was reduced by Rs 75.
