Share market update: Media shares slip; Dish TV plunges 11%

NEW DELHI: Media shares were trading with losses in Monday's afternoon session. Shares of Dish TV India (down 11.11 per cent), Zee Entertainment Enterprises (down 5.44 per cent), Den Networks (down 4.47 per cent) and TV18 Broadcast (down 3.11 per cent) were trading with losses. Sun TV Network (down 2.64 per cent), TV Today Network (down 2.42 per cent), Network 18 Media - Investments (down 0.83 per cent) and PVR (down 0.75 per cent) too were trading lower.

The Nifty Media index was trading 3 per cent down at 1867.15 around 11:52 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 30.85 points at 11,921.45 while the BSE Sensex was up 77.66 points at 40,242.69.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 20 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, SAIL, PNB, Tata Motors, Adani Power, Bank of Baroda, Infosys and JSPL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
