Stock market update: IT shares mixed; TCS dips 1%

NEW DELHI: IT shares were trading on a mixed note in Friday's morning session. Shares of Tata Elxsi (up 2.37 per cent) , HCL Technologies (up 0.69 per cent) , Oracle Financial Services Software (up 0.63 per cent) and Tech Mahindra (up 0.40 per cent) were trading higher. Tata Consultancy Services (down 0.94 per cent) , MindTree (down 0.73 per cent) and Infosys (down 0.43 per cent) were trading with losses.

The Nifty IT index was trading 0.22 per cent down at 15,590.10 around 10:14 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 22.35 points at 11,989.70 while the BSE Sensex was down 66.03 points at 40,587.71.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 31 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, ICICI Bank, DLF, JSPL, Bank of Baroda, Tata Motors, BHEL and SAIL were among the most traded securities on the NSE.
