Kathmandu, November 28 Around 30 per cent of reconstruction of Dharahara has been completed since the work started around a year ago . After more than three years of the destruction of Dharara by the 2015-earthquakes, its reconstruction begun following laying of the foundation stone by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on 27 December 2018. The reconstruction project estimated at Rs 3.4 billion is set to be completed in two years.

The 11-storey under-construction Dharara, covering 22 ropani will be approximately 294 feet tall with two elevators. The ruined base of the original Dharahara will be preserved as memorial for those killed in the earthquake.

Over 150 workers, Nepalis and Indian, have been working on the project. Heritage expert Raju Man Manandhar, who works for the National Reconstruction Authority, claimed the project will be completed within two years.
