Kathmandu, December 16 In a bid to generate more job opportunities and provide vocational training to youths, Kathmandu Metropolitan City has signed a memorandum of understanding with the United Nations Development Programme to establish a KMC Hub (K-Hub). The agreement was signed by KMC Mayor Bidhya Sundar Shakya and UNDP Resident Representative to Nepal Ayshanie Medagangoda-Labe yesterday.

Speaking at the MoU signing programme, Mayor Shayka said the metropolis was introducing the programme with joint efforts of governmental, private and community sectors to create more job opportunities in the country.

&This programme will help retain those youths who go abroad in the search of lucrative jobs.& K-hub will facilitate startup companies and young entrepreneurs to establish their business by supporting them economically and training them in marketing strategies.

Speaking at the programme, KMC Urban Planning Commission Vice-chair Saroj Basnet said that the programme would help small scale firms and enterprises expand and create more job opportunities.
