Irregularities in hospitals will be curbed: Minister

We are planning to bring uniformity in the services provided by health workers in all government hospitals Kathmandu, December 16 Minister of Health and Population Bhanubhakta Dhakal has said the irregularities and anomalies in government hospitals willbe brought to zero soon. Speaking at an event organised in the capital to mark the sixth anniversary of National Trauma Centre, Minister Dhakal said government hospitals should be made centres of attraction for patients.

& &Irregularities and anomalies prevalent in the hospitals will be gradually controlled and brought to zero.

Government hospitals should ensure reliable service,& said Dhakal. Soon after assuming the post of health minister, Dhakal started takingstock of government hospitals. He said that complaints had been received against doctors and nurses for not providing proper health services to patients.

&We are working on a plan to bring uniformity in the services provided by doctors and nurses in all government hospitals,& Minister Dhakal said. National Trauma Centre, which was established six years ago, has been providing health services to people suffering from various kinds of injuries such as head, lumbar, spine and pelvis injuries, shoulder and upper arm, elbow and forearm, and plastic surgery,among various other services. A total of 79,239 people visited the centre out-door patient department while 18,263 people visited the emergency ward in the last fiscal.
