KATHMANDU, MARCH 15Vice-president Nanda Bahadur Pun has said that the girls' or women's relatives were involved in 70 per cent of domestic violence cases. The vice-president said the rights of women and girls guaranteed by the constitution would be ensured. Chairperson of National Human Rights Association Top Bahadur Magar said women continued to be victims of violence mainly because the laws enacted to deal with violence against women were not fully implemented.Chair of National Women Commission Kamala Parajuli said full and effective implementation of laws enacted to deal with violence against women remained a challenge.Women rights activist Meera Khanna said violence against women and girls was increasing and yet the policy makers were not paying attention to the problem.A version of this article appears in the print on March 16, 2022, of The Himalayan Times. .
