Omnika aims to be first cabin crew to scale Everest

KATHMANDU, MARCH 29A cabin crew from Himalaya Airlines is all set to head for the Khumbu region early next month to attempt to climb the world's highest peak this climbing season. Pulsar Sports Award next month Himalaya Airlines resumes Saudi flights Omnika Dangol, who had recently scaled three peaks – Mera, Island and Lobuche – in just nine days, will be a part of the Everest expedition organised by Thamserku Trekking.

If successful, Omnika will be the first cabin crew to scale Mt Everest, according to the expedition organizer. Supported by Himalaya Airlines, Omnika's bid on Everest will certainly inspire women around the world to take challenges in every front.

"For sure, I can do it," she quipped.Omnika, the only daughter of Dangol family, said she would be carrying the national and Himalaya Airlines flags to the top of the world.Letting the only child to take such a risk in life is not a comfortable move for any family.

"But, my parents are very supportive and with their blessings I want to stand atop the roof of the world this season," she replied.Omnika will be leaving for the Everest region early next month to begin her climbing activities.

Omnika, a travel and tourism management graduate from Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management, has been working with Himalaya Airlines for seven years.

She climbed Mera, Island and Lobuche peaks to prepare for her Everest climb. .
