KATHMANDU, APRIL 17The Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration is all set to conduct Training of Trainers in a bid to produce competent human resources and engage them in coaching local level employees for nutrition programme.

According to a circular issued by the Local Level Coordination Section of the MoFA- GA to all the local units today, the ToT will be conducted at the provincial level by selecting trainees from among the employees of all the local levels.
It is part of the 'Nutrition-friendly Local Level Implementation Directive, 2022' which is intended to address the nutritional needs of lactating mothers, infants, children, adolescent girls and vulnerable people at the local levels.The directive envisions building a healthy, prosperous and civilised human capital and aims to make all 753 local levels nutrition-friendly by 2030.Section Officer Chiranjeevi Nepal at the MoFAGA said a format form was sent to all the local levels.
Interested and eligible local employees willing to participate in ToT will have to fill out the format forms with necessary details and information.
The candidates for ToT will be selected on the basis of criteria developed by the MoFAGA.The officer-level employees who have gained experience related to formulation of policy, programme and budget of local levels and obtained educational qualification of at least bachelor's degrees along with general knowledge on information technology will be eligible to participate in ToT.As per the MoFAGA, ToT is necessary to achieve the objectives of the directive.
The objectives include improvement in nutritional status of women, children and adolescent girls; institutionalisation of multi-sector practices in nutrition and adoption of nutrition-friendly good governance by pursuing reforms in local level policies, plans, programmes and service delivery.The local levels, elected representatives and employees will also be provided with orientation to conduct awareness-raising programmes and advocacy in a bid to educate people about nutrients found in various local foods.
