15 women in fray in two sub-metropolises of Dang

DANG, APRIL 28Fifteen women candidates representing various political parties are in the fray for leading positions in two sub-metropolises of Dang for the local level elections slated for May 13. 15 women candidates register for major posts in Jhapa Local level polls: 149,838 in fray for 35,221 posts Of them, six women are contesting for the post of mayor and nine for the post of deputy mayor, according to the Office of the Chief Returning Officer, Dang.

Three women have filed their candidacies for the post of mayor in Tulsipur sub-metropolis and three for the post of Mayor in Ghorahi sub-metropolis. Four women are competing for the post of deputy chief in Tulsipur and five for the post of deputy chief in Ghorahi."For the post of Tulsipur mayor, Jagadhani Chaudhary is contesting from Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Jaya Gharti Magar from Mongol National Organisation Party, and Prabha Chaudhary from Nagarik Unmukti Party," said Election Officer Rajeshwar Aryal.Similarly, Sani Chaudhary from CPN-UML, Man Kumari Mahat from CPN-Maoist Centre, Dhansara BK from Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal, and Fagri Chaudhary from CPN (Marxist) are contesting for the post of deputy mayor of Tulsipur sub-metropolis.Likewise, Sarita Devkota from Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Kalpana Chaudhary from Mongol National Organisation and Shanta Chaudhary from Nagarik Unmukti Party are in the fray for the post of mayor in Ghorahi sub-metropolis.Huma DC from UML, Shobha Kumari Shah from CPN(US), Laxmi GM from Bibeksheel Sajha Party, Radhika Chhetri from CPN (Marxist) and Basanta Kumari Bhattarai as an independent candidate are in the fray for the post of deputy mayor.A version of this article appears in the print on April 29, 2022, of The Himalayan Times. .
