KATHMANDU, MAY 12A 29-year-old woman from Taiwan has scaled Mt Makalu this morning completing her seventh summit of the 8000m mountain, expedition orgnasiers said.

Tseng Ko-Erh aka Grace Tseng from Taiwan reached the summit of the world's fifth highest peak in Sankhuwasabha, Dawa Sherpa, managing director at Dolma Outdoor Expedition, said.
Grace, along with Nima Gyalzen Sherpa from Dolma Outdoor stood, atop the mountain at around 3:00am, he added.She had earlier climbed Mt Annapurna without using supplemental oxygen, and has also become the youngest female in the world to do so at the age of 29.
"She climbed Makalu using supplemental oxygen to complete her 7th 8000er," he added.
Of the seven summits, Grace has climbed six mountains within a year.She had climbed Mt Kanchenjunga in the last spring season becoming the first Taiwani woman to scale the world's third highest peak.
She had also climbed Mt Everest, Mt Lhotse, Mt Manaslu and Mt Dhaulagiri and Annapurna, according to Sherpa."She wants to be the youngest woman to climb all 14 peaks above 8000 m," Sherpa added.Grace's climbing details1.
