KATHMANDU: Nepal's senior tourism entrepreneur Mohan Lamsal has been elected to the Kiwanis International Board of Trustees.According to Kiwanis International, Lamsal was elected as an at-large trustee of the Kiwanis Board at the 2023 Kiwanis International Convention in Minneapolis, Minnesota, held last week.

Lamsal, the general secretary of the Nepal Mountaineering Association and the owner of Makalu Adventure Tour, said that he would perform his best to achieve the objectives of the Kiwanis International."Kiwanis International is committed to providing additional support to the children of the remote areas deprived of education and health access and as volunteers for mobilising assistance at the time of various disasters," he said.
Lamsal is a founding team member of Kiwanis Club in Nepal and one of the first Kiwanian in the country, and is an active member of clubs like Kiwanis Club of Kathmandu.
As an active social worker, Mohan being the Governor of the Kiwanis Nepal District, initiated the campaign in the COVID pandemic to distribute supplies like food, shelter, cloths and other basic needs to over 20 orphanages in Nepal.Lamsal, Growth Chair for the Asia Pacific, has opened 42 clubs in Nepal and 9 instant clubs in India, the first club in Bangladesh under his initiation.As an active social worker, Lamsal has been involved in volunteering and social activities since 1987 and encouraged Kiwanian to actively contribute and serve children.
