NHRC imposes standard procedure for its members

KATHMANDU, JULY 07The National Human Rights Commission has enforced the code of conduct for its members to enhance fairness, transparency, effectiveness and quality in its activities in the protection, promotion and implementation of human rights.

This code of conduct especially applies to NHRC members, including the chairperson. India's Modi is getting a state visit with Biden, but the glitz is shadowed by human rights concerns Iga Swiatek tops Karolina Muchova in the French Open final for her 3rd trophy in Paris, 4th Slam The code of conduct strives to guide NHRC members to uphold their professional conduct, motivate them to reflect on moral principles and values, and enhance their institutional capacity with regard to norms and values of human rights.The principles of the code of conduct include commitment to human rights, fairness and neutrality, punctuality, quality and consistency, expertise, honesty, confidentiality and integrity.

"The members will have to demonstrate their professional conduct during public hearing and interactions with stakeholders.

This rule will apply even in the meeting conducted within the NHRC.

No member shall use abusive language or otherwise demonstrate insulting behaviour towards others," the code of conduct reads. The code of conduct also bars members from criticising one another publicly."No member shall act in a way to serve one's personal interest by abusing the authority of his or her office.
