NEW DELHI: Defying the positive market mood, as many as 51 stocks, including Centum Electronics, Byke Hospitality, Century Plyboards (India), HSIL and Indian Terrain Fashions, hit 52-week lows on NSE on Friday.
However, 45 stocks, including Hindustan Unilever, Britannia Industries, ITC and Infosys hit 52-week highs on NSE today.
After Thursday's losses, domestic equity market registered an impressive rebound on Friday, in the wake of improved global cues after China said it would hold talks with the US later this month on spiraling trade dispute.
Healthy buying in bank, metal and FMCG stocks amid sustained capital inflow lifted market higher.
The NSE Nifty scaled record closing high of 11,470.75, surging 85.70 points or 0.75 per cent.
Sensex soared 284.32 points, or 0.75 per cent, to settle at 37,947.88.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 35 ended the day in the green and 15 in the red.
The Sensex pack witnessed 21 stocks settling in positive zone and 10 losing out.
GAIL (India), Eicher Motors and Hero MotoCorp settled as the top three losers in the Nifty index.
