NEW DELHI: Shares of GAIL (India) (down 4.70 per cent), HPCL (down 1.81 per cent), Petronet LNG (down 1.39 per cent), Indraprastha Gas (down 1.07 per cent) and Castrol India (down 1 per cent) were trading in the negative territory in afternoon trade on Tuesday.
The BSE Oil Gas index was trading 0.59 per cent down at 15,114 around 02:30 pm.
BPCL (down 0.84 per cent), Oil India (down 0.76 per cent), Indian Oil Corporation (down 0.51 per cent) and ONGC (down 0.11 per cent) were also suffering losses.
Shares of Reliance Industries (up 1.98 per cent), however, were trading nearly two per cent higher.
Benchmark BSE Sensex was up 167.83 points at 38,861.94, while the NSE Nifty50 index was up 35.80 points at 11,727.75.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 31 were in the red.
15 stocks were advancing in the Sensex index, compared with 16 decliners.
Reliance Industries was leading among Sensex gainers.
YES Bank, plunging over 5 per cent, was the top loser in the Sensex index.
