Like a fine wine, or the protagonist of God of War, age suits this powerful console, and great games for it just keep coming. For Sony's highly successful console, the best is both here and yet to come in terms of the games on offer. While it started off with a somewhat repetitive lineup of PS3 remasters, the PS4 has very much come into its own in recent years and now it boasts a brilliant library of games all of its very own.
Which is probably a big part of why it's performed so well in terms of sales. In the face of the rise of always-on online service games, Sony has continued to produce highly successful single-player narrative-driven adventures, making the PS4 the go-to console for fans of exclusive hits such as Horizon: Zero Dawn, Shadow of the Colossus and God of War.Sony clearly has no intention to stop creating console-selling games like these in its new games for 2018, with The Last of Us 2 and Spider-Man at the top of our must-have list.
Outside of what Sony's studios are creating, the PS4 is also home to an enviable roster of AAA third-party titles like Fortnite and Assassin's Creed Origins.And of course, we couldn't talk about the games we're most excited about without mentioning Red Dead Redemption 2.
We may be waiting until October until it come strolling into town, but Rockstar released a third trailer that is pretty hard to ignore.
