NEW DELHI: Over 120 stocks including Alchemist, Alok Industries, Burnpur Cement and CEAT hit 52-week lows on NSE in Thursday's
trade.
Dhampur Sugar Mills, Electrosteel Steels, GTL Infrastructure, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Punjab Sind Bank, United Bank of India,
Vakrange and Zylog Systems also featured among stocks that hit 52-week lows on NSE today.
Equity benchmarks were in the negative territory
on selling in metal, oil, IT and pharma stocks as mixed Asian cues and uninspiring earnings failed to lift market sentiment.
The NSE Nifty
index was trading 35 points down at 10,706, while the BSE Sensex was down 114 points at 35,274 around 10:55 am.
Among the 50 stocks in the
Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 31 were in the red.
Hindalco, BPCL, Cipla and Tata Steel were among the top losers in the
Nifty index.
Shares of Tata Steel cracked even as on Wednesday the company posted a profit of Rs 10,187.23 crore for the March
quarter.
Titan, Bharti Infratel, Coal India and Tata Motors were among the top gainers in the Nifty index.
