Vijaya Bank (down 2.29 per cent), Oriental Bank of Commerce (down 2.24 per cent) and Bank of Baroda (down 1.86 per cent) too were trading
The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 1.74 per cent down at 2899.25 around 10:40 am
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 74.15 points at 10,706.40 while the BSE Sensex was down 213.58 points at 35,811.96
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 13 were trading in the green, while 37 were in the red
