Share market update: Telecom shares mixed; Sterlite Tech slumps 9%

NEW DELHI: Telecom shares were trading on a mixed note in Friday's afternoon session. Shares of Vodafone Idea (up 2.66 per cent), Bharti
Airtel (up 1.48 per cent), Bharti Infratel (up 1.11 per cent) and GTPL Hathway (up 0.62 per cent) were the top performers in the
index. Sterlite Technologies (down 9.51 per cent), GTL Infrastructure (down 4.85 per cent), Vindhya Telelinks (down 2.59 per cent) and ITI
(down 2.29 per cent) were trading with losses
The SP BSE Telecom index was trading 0.61 per cent up at 982.69 around 03:10 pm
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 68.95 points at 10,899.90 while the BSE Sensex was up 223.26 points at 36479.95. Among the 50 stocks in
the Nifty index, 35 were trading in the green, while 15 were in the red
Shares of Reliance Communications, DHFL, JP Associates, Vedanta, YES Bank, Ashok Leyland, IDBI Bank, SBI, Suzlon Energy, Axis Bank, Adani
Power, Jet Airways, Bank of India, Dish TV India, Vakrangee, PNB and IDFC First Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE
