NEW DELHI: Bank shares were trading in the positive zone in Friday's morning session with their sectoral index hitting the 30,000 mark for
the first time ever.
Shares of IDFC First Bank (up 1.91 per cent) , RBL Bank (up 1.39 per cent) , YES Bank (up 1.35 per cent) and Axis Bank
(up 1.09 per cent) were the top performers in the index
Punjab National Bank (up 1.02 per cent) , Bank of Baroda (up 0.84 per cent) , IndusInd Bank (up 0.80 per cent) and Federal Bank (up 0.76
per cent) too were trading higher
The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.53 per cent up at 29,989.40 around 09:50 am
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 47.40 points at 11,568.45 while the BSE Sensex was up 161.15 points at 38547.90
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 were trading in the green, while 16 were in the red
Shares of YES Bank, NTPC, SBI, Indian Oil Corp, ONGC, ICICI Bank, NMDC, Hindalco Industries, Bank of Baroda, Indiabulls Housing Finance and
SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
