Shares of Tata Steel (up 4.06 per cent), Vedanta (up 3.90 per cent), Jindal Steel - Power (up 3.38 per cent) and Hindalco Industries (up
2.35 per cent) were the top gainers in the index
NMDC (up 2.32 per cent), Steel Authority of India (SAIL) (up 1.78 per cent), JSW Steel (up 1.66 per cent) and Welspun Corp (up 1.63 per
cent) too were trading in the green
The Nifty Metal index was trading 1.57 per cent up at 2392.80 around 10:35 am
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 119.75 points at 11,045.60 while the BSE Sensex was up 419.31 points at 37,377.47
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 were trading in the green, while 10 were in the red
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, HDFC Life Insurance Company, Indiabulls Housing Finance, NALCO, SAIL, Dish TV India, Coal India, Ashok
Leyland and Tata Motors were among the most traded securities on the NSE.
