Stock market upgrade: Capital items index down; L T, BEL drag

NEW DELHI: The BSE Capital Goods index was trading 0.31 per cent down at 18,699 around 12:50 pm with Sadbhav Engineering (down 2.46 per
cent) and CG Power and Industrial Solutions (down 2.16 per cent) as the top losers. Shares of Bharat Electronics (BEL), Carborundum
Universal, Kalpataru Power Transmissions, Siemens, Graphite India and Va Tech Wabag declined over 1 per cent in the index. Shares of NBCC
(India), Thermax, Welspun Corp, Suzlon Energy, Schaeffler India, ABB India, SKF India, V-Guard Industries and Larsen Toubro (LT) were among
losers. On the other hand, Mahindra CIE Automotive (up 1.69 per cent), BEML (up 1.08 per cent), Bharat Heavy Electricals (up 0.57 per cent),
AIA Engineering (up 0.52 per cent), GE TD India (up 0.38 per cent) and Havells India (up 0.22 per cent) were among the gainers in the index
around that time. Benchmark BSE Sensex was up 143 points at 35,836, while the NSE Nifty50 index was up 39 points at 10,881. Among the 50
stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red
In the Sensex kitty, 22 stocks were up, while 9 were down. Tata Steel, Hindustan Unilever, ONGC and Bharti Airtel were leading the pack of
Sensex losers.
