NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index finished Thursday's session as the top loser among the sectoral indices on NSE.
The index settled 1.49 per
cent down at 13,825, with 3 stocks advancing and 7 declinig.
KPIT Technologies (up 1.91 per cent), HCL Technologies (up 1.33 per cent) and
Tata Elxsi (up 0.80 per cent) were the three stocks that ended the day with gains.
On the other hand, Mindtree (down 3.37 per cent), Tech
Mahindra (down 2.16 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services (down 2.15 per cent), Infibeam Incorporation (down 1.30 per cent), Wipro (down 0.74
per cent), Infosys (down 0.35 per cent) and Oracle Financial Services Software (down 0.26 per cent) stood as the losers in the
index.
Sustained selling in a majority of sectors, led by IT, bank and consumer durables, in the light of weak global cues weighed on market
sentiment as benchmarks Nifty and Sensex snapped their 3-day winning streak on Thursday.
Sensex closed down by 139 points or 0.39 per cent
However, Nifty managed to hold the psychologically important level of 10,800
The 50-share index settled 49 points, or 0.45 per cent, down at 10,808.
In the Nifty pack, 20 stocks settled in the green and 30 in the red
The Sensex index saw 14 stocks advancing and 17 declining at the end of today's session.
Tech Mahindra, Tata Consultancy Services, Adani
Ports, Indiabulls Housing Finance and Indian Oil Corporation stood as the top losers in the Nifty index.
