25 gamblers arrested, 26.7mln siezed from Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: Police arrested 25 persons for illegal gambling and seized Rs 26.7 million from a house in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-3 on
Saturday night. A team of police deployed from Metropolitan Police Circle, Maharajgunj raided the house belonging to Bikram Gautam at
Pipalmarg and arrested the gamblers red-handed while playing Kauda (a traditional form of gambling with 16 sea shells) with the huge amount
of money as a stake, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Umesh Lamsal, Chief at the police circle. Police arrested Balram
Sapkota, Sovit Silwal, Pradip Bogati, Ram Krishna KC, Indu Shrestha, Ranjan Rajbanshi, Sitaram Khadka, Roshan Tamang, Ram Tamang, Krishna
Bhandari, Suman Gurung, Suman Agrawal, Sodel Karki, Pawan Agrawal, Pabitra Kumar Karki, Balram Sapkota, Mukti Lama, Bhakta Tamang, Shambhu
Budhathoki, Prem Thapa Magar and Ashok Shrestha, Halam Prasad Parajuli, Buddha Lama, Thanku Sherpa and Nawang Lama in connection with the
