Guthi Sansthan fails to meet its revenue target

Kathmandu, November 5 Guthi Sansthan has failed to meet to its revenue target for fiscal 2018-19, stated its annual progress review report
published today. According to the report, it collected revenue of only Rs 684.4 million against its target of Rs 832.8 million
Guthi Sansthan missed its revenue target owing to poor recovery of house rent dues and arrears
It was, however, successful in recovering land revenue dues, application fee, and fine. The government body is mandated to utilise movable
and immovable property of raj guthi or income accruing therefrom for any existing and additional religious, educational, cultural, social
and philanthropic purpose; manage bheti in cash or kind offered to temples and shrines; protect ancient ornaments; carry out farming,
horticulture and animal husbandry and enter into contract to carryout works of raj guthi
It is also mandated to lease out the trust lands to tenants for farming. The report stated that Guthi Sansthan had developed a software
application to record guthi heritage, cash, goods and trust details. &In the first phase, data entry of Kavre district has been completed
and this programme is underway in Kathmandu valley and other districts,& read the report
According to the report, restoration of ancient monuments destroyed or damaged in the 2015-earthquakes witnessed no progress as the National
Reconstruction Authority had yet to sanction budget to reconstruction projects
Guthi Sansthan has started constructing physical infrastructure in heritage sites in coordination with concerned local levels, read the
