Three held with illegal arms in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: As many as three persons have been arrested for their alleged involvement in smuggling arms and ammunition to Kathmandu of
late, the Metropolitan Crime Division (MCD) said, on Thursday. Acting on a tip-off, a sleuth deployed from the MCD arrested Devendra
Bhandari, 35, and Manoj Basnet, 47, both hailing from Balkhu in KMC-14 and Suman Khadka, 50, of Chobar in Kirtipur Municipality-6, from
Balkhu area this afternoon, MCD said in the statement. Police intercepted a jeep (Ba 17 Cha 8364) carrying all three alleged arms smugglers
and subsequently apprehended them, today. After a preliminary investigation, police raided Suman Khadka house in Kiritpur and recovered a
US-made pistol, it magazine and four rounds of live bullets hidden under bricks inside the compound. Meanwhile, an investigation is
