The National Christian Council of Sri Lanka while congratulating President Gotabaha Rajapaksa on his election victory yesterday said the
people have, via ballot spoken and manifested their mandate in an election that was conducted peacefully.&We express our appreciation to the
Independence Election Commission and all the officials for their commitment to a tedious task , well carried out,& the NCC said in a
statement.
The NCC called upon all stakeholders in the country including political religious civil society representatives to support and
