Great white shark kills diver off Western Australia

A diver has been killed by a great white shark off the coast of Western Australia - and his body has not been found.The man was attacked
while diving near a boat at Cull Island, off the south coast town of Esperance.Authorities, who are searching for the man's body with the
help of volunteers, said: "A man received fatal injuries after being bitten by a reported (great) white shark."A woman who was on board the
boat has been treated in hospital for shock.Local politician Ian Mickel said: "We have thousands of people having a good time on the water

is reported to be the second fatal shark attack in the area in under three years.In 2017, keen surfer Laeticia Brouwer, 17, died after being
bitten by a shark.And in 2014, one man lost his left arm and right hand in a shark attack.The latest attack comes just weeks after
campaigner Shelly Payne said more should be done warn people about the chance of attacks in the area and councillors agreed to put up signs
warning of the dangers.A "Shark Smart" system is in place in the area, where people can register sightings on a website for beachgoers to
check before entering the water.The area, famous for its white beaches and stunning blue water, is thought to be popular for abalone
diving.On Thursday, a man was swept off rocks into the ocean just a few miles west of Esperance
His body has not been found.
