Woman pleads guilty to killing husband by lacing his water with eye drops

A woman has pleaded guilty to fatally poisoning her husband by putting eye drops into his water for days.Lana Clayton admitted giving her

manslaughter and tampering with a food or drug.She had initially been charged with murder but accepted a plea deal.In court, Clayton's
lawyers said she was a good person who had worked as a nurse for soldiers - but added that she was suffering from post-traumatic stress
disorder after being abused in the past.Records show the coupled lived in a property worth more than $1m (£760,000) and had a further $1m
in other assets.Prosecutors claimed Clayton had known that the Visine would kill her husband, and alleged she had destroyed his will in
order to inherit is money.Addressing Clayton in court, Judge Paul Burch said: "How can you maintain you did this to teach him a lesson, when
it is obvious from the facts that you let him suffer for three days? You ignored him."
