Rupee Vs Dollar: The rupee weakened to as low as 74.98 against the dollar during the sessionThe rupee edged lower by seven paise - or 0.09

The rupee moved in a range of 74.80-74.98 against the greenback during the four-hour session, having started the day weaker at 74.94
compared to its previous close of 74.75
Weakness in the dollar overseas, however, helped the rupee pare intraday losses, according to analysts. Domestic share markets ended
marginally lower on Friday as investors booked profits following a record jump in daily COVID-19 cases in the country, while a rally in
heavyweight Reliance Industries capped the losses.The S-P BSE Sensex index closed 0.03 per cent lower at 38,128.9, and the broader NSE Nifty
50 benchmark ended down 0.19 per cent at 11,194.15.The dollar index - which measures the greenback against six currencies - was last seen
trading 0.24 per cent lower, having fallen as much as 0.30 per cent earlier on Friday.Crude oil prices edged higher on Friday, supported by
a weaker dollar, though tensions between the US and China and wider economic uncertainty weighed
Brent crude futures - the global benchmark for crude oil - were last seen trading 0.23 per cent higher at $43.41 per barrel.The rupee shut
