AP to present 'Gender Budget' for welfare of ladies, says Jagan

Vijayawada: Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has revealed strategies to introduce a Gender Spending plan that will assist in special
allowance of funds for females welfare
AP will be the very first state to do this, the CM said on Monday.Taking part in an event marking International Women's Day at his camp
workplace, the CM said the gender budget plan would help start a series of well-being schemes and developmental works for females
He laid stress on making sure equal rights to ladies in socio-economic and political fields
He described the existing well-being plans like Amma Vodi, YSR Cheyutha, YSR Asara and Kapu Nestam with a total budget of Rs 80,000 crore
that his government had actually unveiled in the past 21 months
He stated the YSRC federal government paid special attention to empowerment of females and pointed out the law to supply 50 per cent
appointment to ladies in all chosen posts and at work.The CM, in virtual mode, inaugurated Females Assist Desks at all police headquarters
in the state together with Cyber Kiosks
He released the Swechha programme to produce awareness among adolescent girls on menstrual health, and flagged off a fleet of 900 Disha
patrolling cars and 18 Disha crime scene management vehicles.Reddy stated the federal government would offer biodegradable feminine napkins
totally free of cost to girl students from Class 7 to 12 in all government schools from July 1
Such napkins would also be offered at low rate in Cheyutha grocery stores from July 1
He stated the government likewise enhanced casual leave for ladies personnel from 15 to 20
Maintaining that it is obligatory to have office committees to prevent harassment of females in federal government and private
organizations, the CM advised chief secretary Adityanath Das to establish such a panel in the Secretariat, to start with.Referring to the
2011 Census, the CM said only 60 percent of the women were literate in the state while the remaining 40 percent were unable to pursue
education
Keeping this in mind, the state federal government introduced the Jagananna Amma Vodi scheme and invested Rs 13,022 crore on this in the
last two years
He said the YSRC federal government would allocate Rs 32,500 crore in five years for the education of some 44.5 lakh mothers and 85 lakh
trainees
The CM stated crimes against females have dropped by 7.5 percent in 2015, compared to 2019
The time taken for the investigation of such cases boiled down to 53 days from the previous average of 100 days
This was due to the setting up of the Disha police headquarters in each district, he said.The CM stated charge sheets for 563 such offenses
