Share market update: Metal stocks mixed; Vedanta top loser in the pack

NEW DELHI: Metal stocks were trading mixed during afternoon trade on Thursday. The BSE Metal index was trading 0.14 per cent down at 12,559
around 02:35 pm
Vedanta (down 2.27 per cent), Nalco (down 1.80 per cent), Steel Authority of India (SAIL) (down 1.74 per cent) and NMDC (down 0.78 per
cent) were the losers in the metal index
However, Jindal Steel Power (up 1.31 per cent), JSW Steel (up 1.18 per cent), Hindustan Zinc (up 0.64 per cent), Tata Steel (up 0.39 per
cent), Coal India (up 0.17 per cent) and Hindalco Industries (up 0.14 per cent) were trading with gains
Equity markets were up on gains in oil gas, bank, financial and FMCG stocks amid firm global cues. Benchmark BSE Sensex was up 330 points
at 36,596, while the NSE Nifty50 index was up 89 points at 11,037. Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green,
while 19 were in the red
In the Sensex index, 19 stocks were advancing, while 12 were declining. Infosys, Bajaj Auto and Mahindra Mahindra were among the top
losers in the Sensex kitty.
