Varsity profs urged not to strike

University Teachers Association at the the ministry today, Minister Poudel said that it was wrong to go on strike at the university over
petty issues. He said uniformity would be maintained as the service commissions of all the universities were of the same
nature
Stating that university representatives come to the ministry only when there is a problem, Minister Poudel said that a clear outline of
regulatory mechanism and autonomy should be prepared.During the discussion, Buddha Bahadur Thapa, on behalf of the association, urged the
minister to take the initiative to restore the dignity of professors as it was decided in the meeting of the Council of Ministers in
2017.Part-time professors and various student organisations have been padlocking TU for a long time demanding that the salary of professors
should be of the SAARC level and pension of the professors of TU and Nepal Sanskrit University be provided, among others.A version of this
