Record temperature observed last week; parts of country to see rain today, tomorrow

KATHMANDU, MARCH 20Temperature across the country has relatively 'cooled down' with
the beginning of this week, after witnessing a record temperature last week.

Among the districts, Dharan saw the highest rise in
temperature with record 37.7 degree Celsius rooted on March 17 and 37.2 on March 18 - highest in the area since March 28, 2004
The weather may cool today and tomorrow, bringing some respite, with chances of rain in parts of country
According to a forecast issued by Meteorological Forecasting Division, weather in Province 1, Gandaki Province, Karnali Province and Sudur
Pashchim Province along with the hilly regions of rest of the provinces will be partly to generally cloudy today
Rest of the country will remain partly cloudy with chances of light rain or thunder and lightning in few places of hilly regions and chances
of light snowfall in few places of high mountainous region.Similarly, on Monday, hilly regions of the country may witness rain with weather
in rest of the parts remaining generally fair
One or two places of the mountainous region may receive light rain accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning.The aforementioned record
temperature was apparently experienced due to heatwaves observed in Pakistan and northwest India
The heat is slightly dropping there as well but is expected to rise again at the end of the week.With rise in temperature, occurrence of
fire related hazard also increases
Therefore, authorities have alerted all to remain cautious of potential fire hazards including forest fire and to follow preventive measures
to avoid the same. The observations show temperature as recorded yesterday
