its candidate as deputy mayor.Gopi Hamal, who was the nearest rival to Odd in the last local polls, has registered his candidacy as an
independent candidate for mayor.CPN-UML has fielded Rana Bahadur Chand for the post of mayor.Mayoral candidate Odd representing the ruling
alliance expressed confidence that no one could defeat candidates of the ruling alliance.CPN-UML's mayoral candidate Rana Bahadur Chand,
however, claimed that his party would come first in the local polls in the sub-metropolis
