BFIs to remain closed for two day a week

KATHMANDU, MAY 11The Nepal Rastra Bank has directed all banks and financial
institutions (BFIs) to implement two-day public holiday effective from May 15.

NRB amends Unified Directive for BFIs
The NRB issued a notice in this regard after deciding to give
twoday holiday to BFIs - Saturday and Sunday - as per suggestions approved by the NRB governor. As per the decision,
working hours of BFIs have been fixed - from 9:30am to 5:30pm
However, working hours will change from Kartik 16 to Magh 15 (November 2 to January 29) - from 9:30am to 4:30pm
Banking transactions will be conducted between 9:30am and 4:00pm, but will be changed to 9:30am to 3:30pm during the winter months.NRB has
also directed BFIs to make arrangements for the operation of essential banking services from the third day onwards if there are more than
two consecutive holidays, excluding Dashain and Tihar
The central bank has also directed the BFIs to keep track of the services provided to customers over the course of the week after the
