Addressing the first central office bearers' meeting of the Press Centre Nepal
in Lalitpur today, Dahal said Maoist Centre had shouldered the responsibility of leading the country in the right direction
"CPN-MC is now such a key force in Nepal that even international powers cannot influence the country's politics without knowing its
position," he said.
Dahal argued that some external forces were actively working to weaken the Maoists, so it was
everyone's responsibility to protect the party
"It is clear that government will be led on a rotational basis," he said, asserting that the CPN-MC had the power to command 60 seats in the
Parliament."Where we stand, there we make government," he hinted at giving continuity to the existing alliance with Nepali Congress and CPN
(Unified Socialist). He, however, said the party failed to get the expected results in elections
The forces that wanted to see Maoists fail did not succeed, he added.Dahal stressed that the Press Centre could play a significant role in
analysing the international activities in view of the multi-polar world and the present people's mandate so that it would be easy to take
the country a head in the right direction. He also urged the Press Centre to make proper marketing of media content for the protection and
institutionalisation of the achievements of the Maoist revolution.Founding chair of Press Centre Nepal Maheshwor Dahal said irrespective of
the technological development, it was important to note how quality contents were produced
"We have labour but no capital
So, its better run the media in a cooperative model," he suggested.A version of this article appears in the print on December 12, 2022, of
