Electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG): This test measures the electrical activity of the heart to evaluate its rhythm and detect any abnormalities.2
Stress test: Also known as an exercise tolerance test, this evaluates how well your heart performs during physical activity
It helps assess the heart's response to stress and can detect conditions like coronary artery disease.3
Echocardiogram: This test uses sound waves to create images of the heart's structure and function
It provides valuable information about the heart's pumping capacity, valve function, and overall health.4
Cardiac catheterization: This invasive procedure involves threading a thin tube (catheter) through a blood vessel to the heart
It allows the visualization of blood flow, measurement of pressures within the heart, and assessment of any blockages or abnormalities.5
Blood tests: Various blood tests can provide information about heart health, including cholesterol levels, lipid profiles, and biomarkers
like troponin, which can indicate heart damage.6
CT scan or MRI: These imaging tests can provide detailed images of the heart's structure, allowing for the evaluation of any structural
abnormalities, blockages, or damage. It's important to note that the specific tests recommended may vary depending on individual
circumstances and the presence of any symptoms or risk factors
Consulting with a healthcare professional is crucial to determine the most appropriate tests for your heart health assessment.
