NEW DELHI: Most FMCG stocks were trading in the green in Friday's session.
The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.95 per cent up at 32,031
around 11 am, with Emami (up 3.19 per cent) as the top gainer.
Procter Gamble Hygiene Healthcare (up 2 per cent), ITC (up 1.51 per cent)
and Tata Global Beverages (up 1.25 per cent) also featured among the top gainers in the index.
Britannia Industries (up 0.97 per cent),
Marico (up 0.94 per cent), United Spirits (up 0.92 per cent), Jubilant Foodworks (up 0.49 per cent), Godrej Industries (up 0.38 per cent)
and Hindustan Unilever (up 0.26 per cent) were trading up.
However, United Breweries (down 0.64 per cent), Colgate-Palmolive (India) (down
0.32 per cent) and Godrej Consumer Products (down 0.28 per cent) were under pressure around that time.
Equity market returned to positive
zone after Thursday's losses amid positive global cues after US and China agreed to hold talks later this month on trade-related
disputes.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 89 points up at 11,474, while the BSE Sensex was up 302 points at 37,966.
ITC, Reliance
Industries, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and HDFC Bank were among the key drivers of the rally in the market
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 42 were trading in the green, while 8 were in the red
Grasim Industries, Lupin, Tata Steel, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Vedanta were among the top gainers, while GAIL (India), Bharti Airtel, ONGC,
Power Grid Corporation of India and Wipro were among the top losers in the Nifty index.
