Stock market update: BSE Oil Gas index slips; GAIL, ONGC among top drag

NEW DELHI: Losses in GAIL (India) (down 1.82 per cent), Indraprastha Gas (down 0.70 per cent) and ONGC (down 0.67 per cent) were weighing on
oil gas index in afternoon trade on Friday. The BSE Oil Gas index was trading 0.20 per cent down at 14,759 around 02:20 pm
Oil India (down 0.51 per cent), Petronet LNG (down 0.41 per cent) and BPCL (down 0.20 per cent) too were in the red
However, Castrol India (up 1.20 per cent), Reliance Industries (up 0.59 per cent) and Indian Oil Corporation (up 0.38 per cent) were in the
green, while shares of HPCL were (up 0.09 per cent) almost flat around that time
Benchmark BSE Sensex was up 315 points at 37,978, while the NSE Nifty50 index was up 89 points at 11,474. Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty
index, 36 were trading in the green, while 13 were in the red
ITC, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Hindustan Unilever were among the top contributors to the rally in Sensex index. YES Bank and
Vedanta were leading among Sensex gainers
Bharti Airtel and Maruti Suzuki were among the top losers in the Sensex index.
