The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.62 per cent down at 11,437 around 12:05 pm (IST) with Amara Raja Batteries (down 3.20 per cent), Bharat
Forge (down 2.26 per cent), Eicher Motors (down 2.20 per cent) and Tata Motors (down 1.45 per cent) as the top losers.

Systems (down 1.15 per cent), MRF (down 0.78 per cent), TVS Motor Company (down 0.60 per cent), Exide Industries (down 0.48 per cent), Bosch
(down 0.42 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki India (down 0.38 per cent) were also in the negative zone.
However, shares of Ashok Leyland (up 1.30
per cent), Apollo Tyres (up 0.50 per cent), Hero MotoCorp (up 0.14 per cent), Bajaj Auto (up 0.09 per cent) and Mahindra Mahindra (up 0.04
per cent) were bucking the trend, pocketing marginal gains
Equity benchmarks continued trading in the lower territory amid weak global cues.
The NSE Nifty50 index was down 57 points at 10,661, while
the BSE Sensex was 119 points down at 35,057.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 14 were trading in the green, while 36 were in the red
Balrampur Chini Mills, Idea Cellular, HCC, HDIL and IDFC Bank were among the stocks that hit fresh 52-week lows on NSE.
