NEW DELHI: Metal mining stocks were trading mixed in afternoon trade on Tuesday
The BSE Metal index was trading 0.19 per cent up at 13,828 around 12:55 pm.
Shares of Jindal Steel Power (up 2.06 per cent), NMDC (up 1
per cent) and Vedanta (up 0.99 per cent) were the top gainers in the index.
Hindalco Industries (up 0.64 per cent), Hindustan Zinc (up 0.15
per cent) and Steel Authority of India (SAIL) (up 0.07 per cent) too were in the green
However, Tata Steel (down 0.83 per cent), Coal India (down 0.77 per cent), JSW Steel (down 0.19 per cent) and Nalco (down 0.14 per cent)
were in the red in the index
Benchmark BSE Sensex was 50 points down at 37,872, while the NSE Nifty50 index was down 18 points at 11,421.
Among the 50 stocks in the
Nifty index, 24 were trading in the green, while 26 were in the red
In the Sensex pack, 16 stocks were advancing and 15 stocks were declining.
SBI, MM, Axis Bank and NTPC were leading among Sensex
index.
ITC, Hero MotoCorp, PowerGrid, Bharti Airtel and HUL were among the top losers in the Sensex index.
