Authors: JordanNEW DELHI: Most PSU bank stocks were trading with gains during the early trade on Friday.
The Nifty PSU Bank index was
trading 0.76 per cent up at 2,816 around 10:40 am (IST) with all components in the green
Shares of Bank of India (up 1.93 per cent), Oriental Bank of Commerce (up 1.80 per cent) and Bank of Baroda (up 1.78 per cent) climbed
nearly 2 per cent, whereas Union Bank of India (up 1.42 per cent) and Indian Bank (up 1.23 per cent) advanced over 1 per cent.
Shares of
Canara Bank (up 0.89 per cent), Punjab National Bank (up 0.71 per cent), State Bank of India (up 0.54 per cent), Syndicate Bank (up 0.47 per
cent), Allahabad Bank (up 0.42 per cent), Andhra Bank (up 0.27 per cent) and IDBI Bank (up 0.23 per cent) were also trading in the green
zone.
Key equity indices were trading in the red following weak global cues due to little hope of the US and China reaching a resolution at
the negotiating table on their trade dispute
The US-China trade talk entered the second day on Friday
IT, metal, auto and pharma counters were experiencing the heat of selling.
The NSE Nifty50 index was down 42 points at 10,638, while the
BSE Sensex was 126 points down at 34,977.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 were trading in the green, while 35 were in the red
Adani Ports, ONGC and HCL Technologies were the top gainers in the Nifty pack of stocks.
