The US company paid $16 billion for a 77 percent stake in the Indian startup, valuing it at over $20 billion
However, Walmart says it is open to other investors joining in its bid, but says it will maintain majority stake in Flipkart
It also said in a regulatory filing that the Flipkart IPO could be within four years of the deal’s completion.The deal is subject to
approval by the Competition Commission of India and other regulatory bodies
As part of the deal, Flipkart co-founder Sachin Bansal will leave the company and has sold his 5.5 percent stake for roughly $1 billion
